<p> Whew! Caught napping, I was nearly swallowed by lava. </p> <p> Okay, not really. This is the spot where, in 1993 (-ish?), lava from Kilauea (sp?) obliterated the coast road. In fact, this volcano is still active. Unfortunately, the live flows are a good three-mile hike over broken lava, and we didn't have the time to make the trip. </p>
